My Experience with CBD Oil

I am always looking for natural ways to aid in my journey with my Desmoid. It’s definitely a huge change to now research and choose all the best natural remedies for things instead of just reaching into the medicine cabinet to grab what I’ve always used.

One of the biggest side effects of a Desmoid, would be the chronic pain that they tend to bring. Because they grow so quickly and can grow to be so large, they effect the nerves and the surrounding tissues and muscles. I’ve said this before, and I’ll say it again .. I am SOO lucky that my Desmoid does not cause me constant pain. Every now and then it does give me a nice sharp jolt (I like to think its to remind me we have work to do to make it disappear) and some days it will ache but its nothing unbearable.

I decided, for days when it was painful, to go the CBD route as the benefits far outweigh any other over the counter product. CBD is also all natural and since that is my path currently, it seemed like a really great fit.

Just like anything else, make sure you do your research and are completely comfortable with using it. It will never make you feel high or lethargic but you should just always be aware of what you’re putting into your body.

There is a lot of noise on the internet so I actually found a reputable local natural food store and spoke with an employees there. They were really great and told me that in some cases, CBD can even prevent tumors from growing. I chose to go with a 500mg dosage as that seemed to be the most popular for people start out with. I place 3 drops under my tongue when I feel any discomfort and pain.

My CBD Oil of Choice

It. works. like. a. charmUsually after 15-20 minutes the pain subsides completely and allows me to continue on with my day normally. I also decided to go with the CBD oil because it is the most potent form of it I could find. I didn’t have any interest in trying the gummies that are packed with other ingredients for taste and my oil is flavored with peppermint extract and is really pleasant tasting.

My husband has taken it for muscle pain and headaches as well and it works for him just the same. We have stopped taking Advil all together and now if we have any kind of pain we use the CBD oil. This stuff is amazing and I recommend you try it if you have any discomfort. Here are just some more benefits of CBD oil:

  • Can Relieve Pain
  • Could Reduce Anxiety and Depression
  • Can Alleviate Cancer-Related Symptom
  • May Reduce Acne
  • Might have Nueroprotective Properties
  • Could Benefit Heart Health

It also has anti inflammatory properties which is one of my main focuses at the moment. Below I have linked another blog that really dives into CBD and I think its a great starting point for research. For a more in depth explanation of what CBD oil is and how effective it is click here.

Let me know if you have tried it and what your experience has been!

  1. Hello there! I just read your post and wondered if you have had experienced any growth/shrinkage in your tumor since using CBD oil. My 3 year old is on his second chemotherapy and it isn’t working, his tumor is still growing. His is in his parotid gland (right under the jaw) and goes deep into his facial structure so we desperately need to find a way to stop the growth.
    Thanks for any information!

    1. Hi Kiley! I am so sorry for the delayed response. I hope you’ve been able to have some relief from the tumor growth for your son in the time that’s passed. I, personally, had great experiences with CBD. It allowed me to relax and sleep better without any feelings that THC can bring on. There are a lot of studies correlating CBD with the ease of illness. My tumor has shrunk and is no longer detectable to the touch. I can’t contribute it to one thing specifically, but I know CBD was a huge part of my routine that led to its shrinking.

      All the best.
